Find your lift. Plan ahead. Boat happy.
Our Boat Lift Calculator is designed to give you a quick, easy estimate of the lift capacity your boat may need. Just plug in your boat’s basic information and we’ll do the math.
Important things to know before dropping anchor on your decision:
- Estimates, not gospel.
This calculator is intended for general informational purposes only. Boat lifts are a serious investment, and final sizing should always be confirmed by a qualified marine contractor who can evaluate your specific boat, dock, and water conditions. - Hulls matter (sometimes more than the scale).
Not all boats carry their weight the same way. Hull design, beam, and balance can affect how much lift capacity is actually required—even if the listed boat weight says otherwise. - We’ve added 15% for “boat stuff.”
The calculation includes an additional 15% allowance for normal gear—rods, coolers, safety equipment, and the usual on-board essentials. If your boat carries unusually heavy or specialized gear, that extra weight should be accounted for separately. - When in doubt, size up. Seriously.
We strongly recommend choosing at least one lift size above what your current boat requires. Boats have a funny habit of getting bigger over time—new models, more features, more horsepower… you know how it goes. Planning ahead can save you from having to replace a major investment later when you “stumble upon” something larger down the road.
Bottom line:
This tool gives you a solid starting point—but your local marine professional is the final authority on proper lift sizing. A little extra capacity today can mean a lot more flexibility (and fewer regrets) tomorrow.
